BLACKCOCK AND GROUSE IN FLIGHT
THROUGH A WINTER WOODLAND
1924

Archibald Thorburn, Blackcock and Grouse in flight through a Winter Woodland. Fine Art Print after the original watercolour.
Mouse-over for close-up.  Mouse-wheel to zoom

The stillness and silence of dawn in a Scottish Winter wood is shattered by the clatter of wings as a pack* of Blackcock (Black Grouse) and Red Grouse
race along above a partially frozen burn.
One of Thorburn's masterworks - the original of which has suffered catastrophic and irreversible fading over the past 90 years.
This print is taken from the re-mastered original watercolour image in which all the colour fading and time damage have been corrected.
